Two successful innovations in the fields of agriculture and environment have been made by Raman. The first innovation has been done to solve the problem of burning crop residue by preparing a model of LR (Lalit-Raman) compost pit. This model is being successfully adopted by about 400 farmers of Meerut and Gautam Buddha Nagar districts with the cooperation of UNDP, Indo Global Social Service Society, HCL and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
In the second innovation, the country's first pollution-free crusher (jaggery making unit) has been built in Poothi village of Meerut district in collaboration with the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Government of India.
A book, (JAL DIGDARSHIKA (Water Guide), has been prepared by Raman to start the work of pond conservation, rainwater conservation and river rejuvenation at any place. Any water and river worker can start work through this book. Raman has established the country's first Rural Rain Centre in village Poothi, Meerut with the active support and participation of the local society. It also has a small library with books, CDs, and video films on the water. This rural rain center also has a live model of rooftop rainwater harvesting.
